음악치료(Music Therapy)란 음악(Music)과 치료(Therapy)의 합성어로서 음악을 매개로 하여 긍정적인 신체 및 심리적 변화를 유도하는데 목적이 있다. 음악치료 이론에 대한 단계적이고 논리적인 이해와 함께 음악의 다양한 분야 중 현장에서 요구되는 진단, 임상기록, 치료과정의 전반적인 평가를 통한 데이터 수집방법, 중재에 수반되는 음악적 기술과 임상적 기술의 기초를 연구하는 방법 등을 음악과 접목해 제시한다.

Music Therapy, as a compound of the music and therapy, is intended to induce a positive physical and psychological changes. In this course students will study logical step for understanding music therapy as well as diagnosis, clinical history, and how data is collected through an overall assessment of the course treatment by incorporating music.
